Shells True Beauty
Dezire Trickey
How can one love such as I?
The sea crashes with its harsh waves, seeping into my skin, as I giggle.
Playing like baby dolphins.
Turning around to find that I'm alone.
Desolate, alone, fearful.
The cold of the sea sinks into my bones.
Wondering to myself, "where is my love? Has he another, or was there one at all?"
Sleepless nights wondering bout those questions.
Feeling sorrow and despair wrapping it's arms around me.
I'm an empty hole, I thought.
No one can love you.
Lighting shining bright awoke me from my captive mind.
"I shall love you till the day I die." Such a smile on his face.
The warmth of his touch freed me from my sorrows.
His kiss lifted the veil of darkness.
Showing me the true beautiful underneath.
I may be a boring clam, but inside I had a pearl waiting for the right someone.
